Bringing the Good News of Jesus Christ into Prisons

WHAT IS PRISON MINISTRY?

We have the privilege of building a Christ-centred, Bible-based community through worship services in Pollsmoor Prison since October 2018. Alongside Hope Prison Ministry, we have brought worship services to multiple prisons across South Africa as well. We honour the call of Christ, to love one another as He has loved us, and we respond to this sacred call through prison ministry.

We believe there are leaders behind bars that with the help of Jesus Christ can change in behaviour and use their leadership skills for good and not for evil. Being part of such an incredible ministry is an honour, and below are a few practical ways in which we outwork this ministry in a healthy, effective, and God honouring way.

Here are some areas to get involved with Hillsong Prison Ministry & Hope Prison Ministry:

-Join us at Sunday Worship Services

-Pray for victims of crime, officers, offenders, ex-offenders, our volunteer teams, and the families of the victims, offenders, and officers

-Midweek Bible studies / Programs (i.e. STRENGTH)

-Aftercare with previously incarcerated people (church location, outreach, equip courses, resource packs, pastoral care, etc.)

-Hope Prison Ministry’s Restorative Justice Processes
