We do our anointing service once a year (even more reason to make sure you don’t miss this Sunday). We take time out to pray and anoint every person in church with oil, as we believe there is power in prayer and the symbolism of the anointing with oil. The oil represents the Holy Spirit, as oil was used to anointed spiritual leaders in the Bible, and afterward the Holy Spirit came upon them (1 Samuel 16:13). We will anoint and pray for healing, for the new year ahead, for spiritual breakthrough and for God to have His way in our lives!
