Gugulethu

As we say in Xhosa, “Molo mhlobo wam,” meaning “hello my friend.” A warm welcome to you from the Ngema family.

My name is Xolani Ngema, and I have the honor of leading our Hillsong Gugulethu location. My journey began in 2017 when I moved from Johannesburg to Cape Town. While searching for a church that felt like home, I was drawn to Hillsong Gugulethu by the warmth and kindness of the people I met. Later that year, I married my beautiful wife, Noluthando, and since 2021, we have been blessed with two children, Noah Ndumiso and Khanya Ngema. Over the past seven years, our young family has found a loving and faith-filled community at Hillsong Gugulethu.

We’ve had the joy of serving in various teams, including pastoral care, welcome, café, and worship. We believe everyone can experience God’s love, feel valued, and find family in the house of God, just as we did. Witnessing the transformative power of God restore lives and bring hope to the hopeless is one of our greatest joys. Through prayer, the Word of God, discipleship, and sharing the good news, we are continually inspired by the tangible difference our church makes in people’s lives. We are passionate about being part of these efforts and encourage everyone to find their place in our community.
