Hi Church,
As we begin our Heart For The Mission season, we wanted to take a moment to write to you personally.
Over the past year, our hearts have been filled with gratitude as we've watched God move so powerfully across our church. We've seen people encounter Jesus, lives transformed, churches strengthened, communities impacted and the Kingdom of God continue to advance across Africa. It has been a privilege to witness all that God is doing!
One of the greatest highlights of the past year has been the incredible faith and generosity of our church through Heart For The Mission. To every person who prayed, sacrificed and gave above and beyond your regular tithes and offerings, thank you. Your generosity has enabled us to continue fulfilling our mission.
Now, we're excited to begin the journey toward Heart For The Mission Sunday on 23 August.
As we shared on Mission Sunday, our theme for the year is Building Together. We love the picture found in Ephesians 2, where Scripture reminds us that "God is building a home... He's using us all... fitting us together brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone."
What a beautiful reminder that every one of us has a place in what God is building. We each bring different gifts, different experiences and different capacities, but together we become part of something far greater than ourselves.
Together, we are developing purpose-filled Jesus followers.
Together, we are building healthy church communities.
Together, we are creating significant and sustainable social impact in our cities and nations.
As we journey through the coming weeks, we'd encourage you to begin praying and asking God how He would have you participate this year.
Heart For The Mission has never been about equal giving, it has always been about equal sacrifice. Our desire isn't that everyone gives the same amount, but that each of us responds faithfully and obediently to what God is asking of us.
Throughout this season we'll be celebrating what God has already done through your generosity, while also sharing the exciting vision and opportunities that lie ahead. We believe the future is incredibly bright, and we're so grateful that we get to build it together.
