Hillsong Africa is a church that believes in Jesus, a church that loves God and people.
Overwhelmed by the gift of salvation we have found in Jesus, we have a heart for authentic worship, are passionate about the local church, and are on mission to see God’s kingdom established across the continent and the globe. We meet in multiple locations all over Africa, and we want to help you grow into the person God made you to be. No matter where you are in your journey, you’re welcome to join us.

HOW DOES OUR CHURCH WORK?
We believe in the local church!
We have a desire to establish local churches across Africa!
Our hope is that each church location will be a watering hole for every community it’s found in.
That our Sunday services will be a place where you can experience a sincere warm welcome, the presence of the Holy Spirit, a vibrant worship experience, and life changing teaching from the Word of God and ultimately a desire to call this church your home.
We have a passion for helping you to find a small community within our church. This means that along with being a part of our Sunday services, you would join a group of people that meet frequently to sit around God’s Word, share a meal and have fun together. This space is an inclusive space that encourages spiritual growth and a deepened relationship with Jesus. We also love to see people’s gifts and talents come alive through serving the people of our church during our Sunday services.
Through being a part of these thriving life giving communities, we can only but be thankful for all God has done for us and therefore want to make Him known in the world outside the four walls of church. We want to see you make a positive impact in your sphere of influence and world.

Our journey in Hillsong Church began in our twenties and has had a huge impact on our lives, stretching us in our faith and growing us in our relationships while experiencing God’s faithfulness and the support of a caring environment. We would love this for you, too!
Over the years, we have seen many lives changed by the power and goodness of God, with people finding connection and community. Our church is a place where we want you to feel welcomed and embraced and where you can fall more in love with Jesus!

Phil & Lucinda Dooley
Global Senior Pastors
Phil and Lucinda Dooley stepped into the role of Global Senior Pastors for Hillsong Church in February 2023. They have been lead pastors of Hillsong Church Africa – a large, multi-campus church with locations across South Africa and branching out into the rest of Africa – and have now fully stepped into the role of leading our church globally.
Before moving to Cape Town, South Africa, to plant Hillsong Church there in 2008, they’d led the youth and young adults ministries of Hillsong Church Australia for 12 years. Phil was also involved in pioneering Hillsong United’s worship music ministry.
Together, Phil and Lucinda are committed to building a healthy church that is a wellspring of life, reaching individuals from every part of society with the hope of Jesus, lifting up lives, and building people up within the context of a loving church culture and community.
The Dooleys have three children, Abbey, Bella and Zac, and two dogs, Spencer and Stanley.
