With a mission to release children from poverty in Jesus’ name, Compassion have been implementing individual child development projects for 60 years, working in some of the poorest communities in the world. Compassion works in 25 countries and has impacted 1.8 million lives.
As a church we have a long-standing relationship with Compassion and a particular focus on Uganda and Indonesia through child sponsorship and water projects.
Compassion Child Sponsorship connects one child with one sponsor and helps to provide sponsored children with education, nutrition and food supplements, one-on-one support, healthcare, life skills, safe places to play, and the opportunity to hear about God’s love for them. Sponsored children attend local church-based Child Development Centres where they receive opportunities to develop their potential and see a brighter future free from poverty. Sponsored children are more likely to grow up to be employed and be leaders in their communities and churches.
We have partnered with Compassion, we have been able to set up water points in some of the projects we have supported. These water points are life-saving, significantly reducing waterborne diseases among the wider community.
