CITYCARE

Though we are an expansive global church we are also a local one: knit within the very fabric of local communities and part of our mandate will always be to serve the people. Through CityCare’s ongoing programs and services, our mission is to do what we can to help create healthy families, foster safe, inclusive communities and reduce vulnerabilities for children, youth, women, refugees and asylum seekers and our first nation people.

CITYCARE YOUTH

CityCare Youth Program aims to support vulnerable and at-risk young people in becoming resilient and empowered to contribute, lead and fulfil their potential. In 2019, we continue to offer three early intervention programs in schools and our local community:

• Safe Spaces offers increased access to safe environments for young people and includes drop-in spaces, before and after school food programs, and sporting and social activities.
• Shine & Strength curriculums are a unique personal development and group mentoring tool that use an inspirational, practical and experiential approach to learning. In 2018, we ran ShineGirl and Strength (for boys) in 11 high schools with over 4,000 participants. We hope to expand our reach to 60 schools this coming year.
• Youth Coach mentoring program partners with schools to connect young people with adult mentors for 12-18 months. The program has proven to be an effective tool for supporting vulnerable youth to overcome life challenges so they can pursue their dreams.

HOMES OF PEACE

Homes of Peace is our transitional housing program for women and children leaving family and domestic violence situations.

Providing accommodation to women through eight properties, Homes of Peace has seen 23 families successfully transitioned into independent living since its commencement in mid-2016.

Our vision for the future is to offer additional programs which will help nurture strong, healthy families and safe inclusive communities for vulnerable children and their carers.
 
 

 
 
HILLSONG CHANNEL
Our Hillsong Channel brings the message of Jesus to 160 million people around the world. With this year’s Heart for the House offering, we will be launching our Hillsong Channel into the nation of Pakistan — bringing the good news of Jesus to a country with one of the lowest Christian populations in the world (1.6%). We have faith to believe this is only the beginning of reaching the world with the gospel through our Hillsong Channel.

ONE80TC
ONE80TC exists to rescue lives from the devastating effects of alcohol
and drug addiction, to restore hope and rebuild families.

In 2019, we will support ONE80TC in two main projects they are focusing on, namely:

• Increasing Residential Program outreach by actively seeking out a new campus site in the Newcastle / Port Stephens area. This program will link into our Hillsong Newcastle Campus!
• The ONE80TC Yarramundi Men’s Centre is in need of improvements, and an upgrade of all fire safety and protection equipment. Whilst carrying out this maintenance, they will also reconfigure room layouts with a focus on increasing capacity so they can rescue, restore and rebuild the lives of more men and their respective families.

We support A21’s work of safe repatriation of children rescued from trafficking to begin a life of restoration and safety. Whether through education and awareness programs, assistance with vocational training or supporting social workers and child advocacy centres, we are committed to seeing each child have their chance at a brighter future.
 
 

 
 

HILLSONG AFRICA FOUNDATION (HAF)
Our partnership with HAF is helping equip and empower people to build their lives and impact South Africa.

• Shine & Strength personal development courses continue to have a lasting impact in schools, prisons, women’s refuges and church locations.
• Accelerate Centres which support people looking for employment, are helping people find job security.
• Kids Clubs, Early Childhood and Sports Programs enable children from vulnerable communities to gain confidence, encouragement and positive identity.

 
 

 
 
VISION RESCUE
We are excited to partner with Vision Rescue in their mission to help children access and maintain education in slum communities across Mumbai. Through community-based education centres, and the provision of dental and healthcare, skills training, business start-ups, sports and self-defence courses, Vision Rescue is giving hope to many and empowering people to build strong, healthy communities.
