Christmas can often be a challenging time, particularly for those who struggle with food insecurity or cannot afford gifts for their children.
The Love Thy Neighbour Christmas Appeal aims to restore dignity and bring hope to the hurting and most vulnerable in our communities by providing parents with toys for their children and food hampers, ensuring everyone can gather and celebrate with a festive meal.
Through the generosity of our church, we offer quality, unwrapped toy packs that parents can personally gift to their children on Christmas Day. These toy packs, along with food hampers, help ensure that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, can enjoy a Christmas meal

The campaign is online, making it easy for anyone to contribute! Being online allows CityCare to purchase the most needed items while ensuring that the quality of hampers and toys remains consistent. It also enables us to confirm with our community partners what will be provided to them with plenty of time for delivery before Christmas.

Donations of $2 or more are tax deductible through Hillsong CityCare and go towards purchases of most needed items.

The Love Thy Neighbour Christmas Appeal extends beyond the physical items provided; it’s also about fostering a sense of community and creating connections between CityCare and our partners. These connections strengthen existing relationships and lay the foundation for new ones.
Through partnerships with over 193 community organisations, we facilitate the distribution of toy packs and food hampers. Some of our key partners include Wesley Mission, Mission Australia, Settlement Services International, Multicultural Development Australia, The Salvation Army, and St Vincent de Paul. We also distribute items through schools and major hospitals.
This campaign was previously known as Kilo of Christmas.
