Welcome to Hillsong Brisbane West Youth

It’s a home for everyday high-schoolers! Our team are passionate about seeing youth from all over Brisbane live YOUNG & FREE to be all God has created them to be.

We wholeheartedly believe that in Jesus, we are never alone. We have fun together, grow in God and build family in various gatherings throughout each week.

Our goal is to make it easy for high-schoolers to connect in whatever environment suits best – SO…we have a plethora (great word hey) of ways for you to belong.

Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

Who Are We?

HYBWEST is the youth ministry of Hillsong Church. It consists of a fantastic youth program on Friday nights, Sunday’s and for engaging small groups midweek.

It’s a brilliant opportunity for young people to be in a positive peer environment and learn about Jesus in a way that will empower them to make the right choices and live out their dreams! Hillsong Brisbane West’s Youth gather every Friday night and Sunday throughout the day plus fortnightly we gather for RDGS on Wednesday afternoon.

Friday Night Youth

Hillsong Brisbane West Youth gathers every Friday for Friday Night Youth in our BrisWest Hub Space from 6:30PM. Friday Night Youth is an incredible place for students to build confidence, friendships, & learn more about the Bible for themselves.

A typical Youth night consists of praise & worship, hang time, preaching relevant to High-School aged students & FUN. Youth is an atmosphere of electricity and craziness every young person needs to experience for themselves.

It's a dream come true for Junior High parents!!

WHEN: This coincides with our Sunday 11AM service.

It is a fun, engaging setting that is built around growing in foundational Biblical truths and creating a healthy community for Yr 7-9 students. Sometimes the transition between Kids ministry and main church services can be such a big change, so we have tailored Youth AM specifically to teach our young people how to love being connected in church life and to also grow in the Word.

Sunday Youth Hangs

Every Sunday night, come hang with our team from 4pm before Church starts. We have food, fun and friendships waiting for every young person! Sunday Youth Hangs is for all High School students whether they attend our Youth or not – everyone is welcome!

Hangtime starts at 4pm – come early for some good vibes and great hangs!

Radical Discipleship Groups (RDG's)

RDG's

This is how we do family.

WHEN: fortnightly on Wednesday

Our RDGs are fortnightly small groups that meet and are led by our Youth leaders, and are tailored to specific grades, schools & genders to make it easy for personal discussions and creating a healthy community. We talk bible, we talk about real-life stuff and as always – WE HAVE FUN.

Many moons ago someone thought it was cool to name our small groups Radical Discipleship Groups – over the years it has changed to “Youth Connect Groups”, “Disciples Who Love Jesus”, “Connect For Hillsong Youth” and many other intolerable names that never made the cut – “RDG” has always stuck ? soooo we’ve decided we’re putting the RAD back in Radical!

Sunday Night Youth RDGs Youth AM Stay Connected

Sunday Night Youth

(Years 7-12)

WHEN: every Sunday night @ 4pm

Sunday Night Youth is our youth orientated church service where we are able to gather with the entire congregation but still enjoy all aspects of youth. There is hang time with starts at 4pm, an hour prior to the start of our 5pm service with heaps of fun and games. This is awesome as a youth ministry because our 5pm services are Holy Spirit driven and full of atmosphere, whilst receiving an incredible word, all to finish of an amazing weekend.

Hangtime starts at 4pm – come early for some good vibes and great hangs!

RDGs

(Years 7-12)

WHEN: fortnightly mid-week

This is how we do family.

RDGs (Radical Discipleship Groups) are our fortnightly, mid-week connect groups where our young people are able to build relationship, encounter Jesus and be in a discipleship focused environment. We have our Fuel (Grade 7-9) age group with a boy and girl RDGs, as well as our Wildlife (Grade 10-12) age group with boy and girl RDG. These ultimately help our young people stay connected and planted within our youth ministry and church.

Youth AM

(Years 7-9)

WHEN: This coincides with our Sunday 11AM service.

Youth AM is a dream come true for Junior High parents!!

Youth AM is another expression of our youth ministry, where our Fuel (Grade 7-9) students meet in the 11am service. It is similar to a youth service, however tailored for this age group to ensure that they are receiving a relevant word and being engaged the whole time. This also includes some games and to finish it off, RDG time which allows the young people to break down the message and talk about what was just preached.
