To be authorised by Hillsong Church as an SRE Teacher, you must complete and provide the following:

- Hillsong SRE Application Form
- Hillsong Working With Children & Youth Process
- Current state based Working With Children's Check Clearance
- Safe Church and Child Protection Training
- Complete Hillsong SRE Training or Essentials SRE Training
- Maintain two hours of refresher learning each year around Duty of Care and Child Protection.

*Please note: providing the above does not guarantee you to be approved as an SRE Teacher.

Hillsong SRE Training will ensure that our volunteers are equipped and empowered to fulfil their role as SRE teacher in a safe and effective manner. The following modules and topics of training are a requirement before you can commence teaching SRE:

- Child protection
- Mandatory reporting
- Classroom management
- Teaching in NSW schools
- Prepare and sensitively deliver an age appropriate lesson
- Communication in the classroom
- Duty of care
- Introduction to the bible

In addition to this, you must also:

- Complete the Department of Education Child Protection training yearly
- Complete a refresher course every three years covering the topics of child protection, mandatory reporting, classroom management and how to implement the curriculum sensitively and in an age appropriate manner

Hillsong Church endeavours to follow all processes of SRE as outlined and explained in the NSW Department of Education Code of Conduct. If you have witnessed something contrary to these processes, or have a concern related to SRE, please follow our complaints process.

When dealing with and resolving complaints, Hillsong Church will:

- attempt to resolve issues at a local level, both respectfully and courteously

Our complaints procedure outlines how we deal with the following types of complaints:

- Parental concern regarding an SRE teacher or the curriculum their child is being taught

- Schools concern regarding an SRE teacher

- A Hillsong Church NSW SRE teacher concern regarding a student, teacher or parent in a local school they teach SRE

- A SRE teacher concern regarding the way SRE is being implemented in a local school
