Safer Internet Day 2025

Resources for Parents and Carers

Safer Internet Day is celebrated in 170 countries world wide, and is a reminder that we all have a part to play for online safety at home, school, work and in the community – on Safer Internet Day and every day.

We’ve gathered some helpful resources for parents and carers to encourage conversations with their children and young people about being safe online.

Online Safety for Children and Young People at Hillsong Church

Hillsong programs for children and young people seek to provide positive and safe physical and online environments for all participants. Read about our online safety guidelines and tips for parents, carers, children and young people.

Picture eBook – Jack Changes the Game

This book provided by thinkuknow.org.au is designed for parents and carers to read with 5 to 8 year old children to learn about being safer online. In the book, Jack meets a new online friend through his favourite game. Before too long, ‘Footy Boy’ starts asking Jack for things that make him uneasy. Jack starts to wonder if ‘Footy Boy’ is the person he claims to be. Should Jack tell someone? What will happen if he does? This book will help children recognise the signs of online grooming, how to get help and the importance of telling a trusted adult. Download the book from the button below.

Home Learning Activity

Accompanies the Picture eBook Jack Changes the Game, with conversation prompts and home activities. Download the Home Learning Activity from the button below.
