Watoto Neighbourhood

The harsh reality is that many of women in Uganda and South Sudan have been left to bear the brunt of war, poverty and disease.

Watoto Neighbourhood is committed to thousands of women who have been abandoned or widowed, left to fend for themselves and robbed of all dignity. Many of these women are HIV+ and have become victims of sex trafficking. Uneducated and unemployable, they are left to suffer alone and fear that their children will soon join the ranks of Africa’s countless orphans. 

Watoto Neighbourhood comes alongside these vulnerable women in the community and equips them to become self-sustainable. By meeting her essential needs and empowering her with skills training she is able to care for herself and her children. The goal is to restore these women and show them that there are no limits to God’s greatness and that they too can dream again. 

Watoto Neighbourhood works to: 

• Improve their quality of life by assisting them with basic necessities and medical care 
• Provide comprehensive HIV/AIDS care including counseling and psychosocial support 
• Equip and empower women with business skills training necessary to begin to earn a living
• Embrace them with the love of Christ through spiritual discipleship
