Education is not only important for a brighter future, but to many girls in Africa, it is critical to their survival. Many girls in rural areas of Uganda and South Sudan stay home during their period, missing out on weeks of education every year. Girls that are not going to school are vulnerable and at a higher risk of abuse, unwanted pregnancy, HIV and early marriage. To prevent girls from becoming vulnerable, Watoto started a project within their Neighbourhood ministry called “Keep a Girl in School”.
Through “Keep A Girl In School”, Watoto provides girls in Uganda and South Sudan with sanitary towels, hygiene supplies, sexual education, life skills and character development, reducing school dropout and increasing exam completion.
Our partnership with Watoto we can help give these girls a greater chance in life.
