Asylum Seeker Support

Providing social connections and practical empowerment for people seeking refuge

Buy items

The last few years have been a challenging for everyone but it is often those marginalised who gets hit the hardest. For asylum seekers in the UK, Covid-19 has meant that a decision on their status has been delayed, creating a backlog and increased number of people in the asylum system

The need is great and in London alone, an estimated 6,000 asylum seekers are housed in or around the capital and in need of support. Currently we are providing English classes, supplying clothing, toiletries and help families with placing their children in school

For contributing financially online or via the app, please select local Social Impact > Refugee Response> Refugee Support

Community Café

The Community Café, is a weekly gathering for those new to the UK that we run together in partnership with HTB Church. The café provides a place for people seeking asylum to practice their conversational English, meet with locals, and enjoy local ethnic food every Monday night at St Luke’s Earl’s Court.

Apart from social connection and English support we aim to provide practical provision and signposting with regards to housing, accessing services and setting up life in the UK.

We are in the process of creating pathways for employment and skills development for our beneficiaries – if you are able to support or contribute in this please email [email protected] .

English Classes

We hold English Classes for people seeking asylum every week in Earl’s Court with the aim to empower them to integrate and feel more confident about life in the UK. These classes exists to provide those who have not been able to access formal education (yet) or supplement the current English tuition they are receiving. Classes run for 3 hours on a Friday afternoon and are volunteer led.
