Today, the UNHCR estimates that there are over 108 million people displaced across the world due to war, persecution and conflict. Among them are 36 million refugees, with half of them being under 18 years of age.

We believe the church is uniquely positioned to support and welcome refugees and asylum seekers in our community and beyond. Through our Refugee Response projects and initiatives, we want to help refugees within our communities by setting up home and life in the UK.

We run a number of projects for people seeking refuge in the UK including our Football United projects, Community Café for asylum seekers and Refugee Resettlement programme.

REFUGEE YOUTH SUPPORT

Helping young refugees rebuild their lives through World Vision’s Adolescent Friendly Spaces in Jordan

We are privileged to work with World Vision UK and support young refugees in the Azraq refugee camp in Jordan and provide practical and psychosocial support to help them rebuild their lives and future.

FOOTBALL UNITED

Through our Football United programme dozens of young refugees and asylum seekers find a place where they can forget about their challenges, engage in sports, make friends and build their confidence and skills.

Football United provides a place where young refugees and asylum seekers who are new to the UK find a community that is safe, inclusive and supporting.

ASYLUM SEEKER SUPPORT

Through our Asylum Seeker Support projects we aim to provide practical support and social connection to those new to the UK.

Every week we run English Classes and a Community Café in Earl’s Court to help newcomers improve their language skills. In addition we run social events and outings for people seeking sanctuary in the UK.

REFUGEE RESETTLEMENT

Through the Community Sponsorship Programme of the Home Office we have the amazing opportunity to resettle refugee families in our cities.

We support them with finding housing, setting up their home, and find their feet as they build their new lives in the UK. So far we have resettled 8 families from Syria and Afghanistan. We hope to welcome more families in the nearby future!

Hillsong Foundation UK

The Hillsong Foundation UK’s purpose is to enable and finance the Church’s mission. Our aim is to establish the Church in cities across the nation, offering a “Welcoming Home” for everyone to encounter God while actively embodying the teachings of Jesus, both locally and globally. We achieve this through our National Initiatives, Local Initiatives, and Social Impact Initiatives, collaborating with like-minded non-profit organisations in the UK and worldwide to bring awareness and aid to the vulnerable.
