As a church, we are partnering with World Vision, with whom we have a long-standing relationship, to respond to the unfolding situation in Afghanistan and do what we can to help with an urgent appeal.
World Vision has been operating in Afghanistan for the past 20 years, with over 300 staff bringing hope and justice to thousands of the most vulnerable children and their families. They are currently on the ground in Afghanistan, responding to the current need by prioritising children and those most vulnerable. Immediate needs for those displaced are shelter, household items, food, sanitation, health services and drinking water.
If you would like to contribute, there are two ways we can respond as a church:
World Vision has given specific needs that our church can pray for.
Pray for the children, their families and communities who live in fear every day.
Pray for World Vision’s staff who continue to put their lives on the line every day. Many of whom are Muslims and love working for World Vision, but are now in increasing danger by being associated with them.
Pray for an immediate ceasefire and the protection of all children.
Pray for generous supporters to enable World Vision to serve the most vulnerable children in their darkest hour.
Pray for families in Afghanistan to find hope and comfort in the love that only the Lord can bring. And may they see that love personified through the actions of World Vision as they live out John 15:12: ‘My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.’

An influx of Afghani asylum seekers is expected to come to the UK in the next few weeks and months. These asylum seekers (alongside other nationalities) will likely be placed in initial accommodation of the Home Office in and around London. Our Asylum Seeker Support project has already been reaching out to asylum seekers including people from Afghanistan by providing health assessments, clothing packs and other practical support. With the expected increase of Afghani asylum seekers we need more support, see below how you can help.

There is a need for healthcare professionals who can help with initial health assessments as asylum seekers arrive in the UK. Please get in touch here:
You can donate clothing in good and clean condition and usable phones that we can distribute to asylum seekers who do not have much more than the clothes on their backs.
Currently, you can bring items as listed below to our ‘Love Your Neighbour’ London Hub located below.
