A note from Social Impact team
It’s Refugee Week in the UK from 17-23 June with Thursday 20th June recognised as World Refugee Day. It provides an opportunity to honour and celebrate the strength, contributions and courage of people who have no option other than to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution. The theme of this year’s Refugee Week is ‘Our Home’ and as a church we believe that we are uniquely positioned to provide a new home. We believe that we are called to welcome the strangers in our cities and support refugees and asylum seekers with a warm welcome, caring community and provide practical empowerment. We can all play our part this Refugee Week and do something through simple acts of kindness, supporting our projects, or reflect and pray on the biblical approach to those seeking refuge.

Refugee Week Devotional
We pray that this short 5-day devotional will help you reflect on the biblical approach to the refugee and stranger in our country and prayerfully consider what our response could be.
To support people seeking refuge and asylum we have a number of projects in the UK. Through our partnership with World Vision we support young Syrian refugees in Azraq refugee camp in Jordan as well.
Helping refugee families find a new home and life in the UK. Through the Community Sponsorship Programme of the Home Office, we have the opportunity to resettle refugee families, giving them a chance to rebuild their lives and future.
Providing social connections and practical empowerment for people seeking refuge. Our initiatives offer essential support to help asylum seekers integrate and thrive in their new communities.
Offering weekly football sessions for young refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. Run by professional coaches from Hillsong UK and partners like Fulham Foundation FC, these sessions foster community and well-being. Currently held in Croydon and Tottenham.
Helping young refugees rebuild their lives through World Vision’s Adolescent Friendly Spaces. Together with World Vision, we reach the most vulnerable and isolated teens in the Azraq camp in Jordan, providing them with vital support and care.
World Refugee Day Celebration
Together with HTB Church whom we partner with at our weekly Community Café in Earl’s Court every Monday we hold a World Refugee Day Celebration on Thursday 20 June from 5-8pm.
The day will be filled with food, music, an art exhibition and a film, all created by asylum seekers and refugees from different countries in the world.
